1. WE DO THIS BECAUSE WE LOVE IT

Our business is built on the premise that every dog has the right to a joyful life. We’re dreamers and doers who believe in relentlessly exploring what’s possible. We’re passionate, playful and deeply invested in our pups.

2. TRUST IS EVERYTHING

We’re plain-speakers who mean what we say. We’re honest with our clients and each other. If our service isn't right for you, we’ll say so. When mistakes happen, we take responsibility and work our tails off to make things right.

3. WE DON’T DO MEDIOCRE

We give everything 120% and then some. We’re obsessive about exceeding expectations and going above and beyond for you, our pups, ourselves and each other.

4. WE LOVE OUR CUSTOMERS

You’re the reason we exist. Your trust in us allows us to do what we do. We’re obsessive about customer happiness, responding to emails and working non-stop to make sure you feel as valued, respected and appreciated as you truly are.

5. WE HAVE A KIND PEOPLE ONLY POLICY

Anyone who demonstrates mean, dishonest or douchetastic behaviour is not welcome in our community or as customers. That also extends to any practice of ageism, racism, sexism or any other ism that’s born from bigotry and hate.

6. WE’RE NOT FOR EVERYONE

Our sense of humour is a little left of centre, our sense of optimism is unstoppable and we can speak in movie quotes. We take a strong stand for kindness. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves.

COVID-19 Protocols

Option 1: Enclosed outdoor space (back or front yard) or an enclosed indoor space (condo/building foyer)

We will alert you to our impending arrival by text message, or our arrival by a knock on the door or text. We will wait for you to dress your dog and let them into the enclosed space. We will leash them and leave. On our return, we will let you know your pup has returned by knock or text. We will secure them in the outdoor space and wait for you to collect them. We will not put them into an enclosed indoor space until you are ready to collect them.

Option 2: A leash tether (railing or tree)

We will alert you to our arrival by text message or by a knock on the door. We will secure a leash outside of your home to a railing or a tree. We will wipe the clip with an alcohol wipe. You can secure your dog to the leash. We will wipe the clip again, and collect your dog and the leash. We will let you know when we are back. Drop off will work exactly the same but in reverse. Note: if you have no railing or tree, we will hold a six foot leash and leave the cleaned clip on the ground for you to attach your dog.

I appreciate this may sound a little chaotic in theory, but I know that it will be much easier to do than it is to visualize.  

NOTES FOR CONTACTLESS SERVICE

We will only be wiping down Citizen Canine equipment that you are touching i.e. our leash in a tethered leash transfer.

We will not be wiping down any of your equipment that we use i.e. harness or collar or jackets. We will not be wiping down anything we touch OUTSIDE of your home. i.e. latches to access your enclosed outdoor space or railings to attach a leash or building doors.

We will only be using Citizen Canine leashes for the walks.

Option 3: We are offering In home pick ups now.

Here are the protocols for the new offering.
**Our Covid – 19 Protocols for In Home Pickups and Drop offs are as follows:**
 

Step one

Mask will be worn.

Step TWO

Unlock and open the door.

Step THREE

Sanitize hands.

Step FOUR

Dress or undress the pup(s).

Step FIVE

Close and lock the door.

Step SIX

Sanitize hands.

NOTES FOR IN-HOME SERVICE

Please note:

  • You must request In Home pick up service.  Contactless will be the default service. 
  • You can continue with Contactless pick ups and drop offs, if that is your preference. 
  • We will only be using Citizen Canine leashes for the walks. 
  • We will not be wiping down any of your equipment that we use i.e. harness or collar or jackets.  (If you are concerned about this, we encourage you to have a second set of equipment just for us to use which can be kept in a bag inside or outside of the house.)
  • We will not be wiping down anything we touch OUTSIDE of your home.  i.e. outside door knobs, latches to access your enclosed outdoor space or railings to attach a leash or building doors.
  • We ask that you maintain a physical distance of two metres while we are in your home.
